Hotels are ideal for those who want a break from the rigours of domestic chores and just want to focus on a lifestyle of relaxation and activity outside their accommodation. However, within a hotel room, there are often many facilities to enjoy, such as television and facilities for making tea and coffee. Advanced accommodation is more likely to have modern fittings, but the basic accommodation will still be a very enjoyable place to spend time, with clean and comfortable furniture. Dinner and breakfast are often provided as part of the room rate. Self-catered facilities are aimed more towards people who like their own space and like to prepare their own food and drink, as even the most basic self-catering apartments will usually include a kitchen comprising an oven, hob, toaster and kettle. More advanced ones may feature a microwave and more space. Accommodation of this type generally provides a more homely approach to a holiday, which some people find much more relaxing than being in a hotel. There are usually dining and sitting areas in which a family can relax, but there is still also the option to go out for breakfast, lunch or dinner if preferred. There are often even more comfortable options available if you don’t mind spending a bit of extra cash. In self-catered accommodation, premium apartments are likely to include dishwashers, high-quality bed linen, widescreen televisions and free DVD hire and a housekeeping service. In premium hotel accommodation, there are usually similar features to the self-catered apartments, but obviously there are meals provided as part of the cost instead of the kitchen facilities found in the self-catered apartments. People’s choices on holiday are always influenced to some extent by their preferred lifestyle when taking a break, but cost is another major factor. It is always important to compare the various facilities and decide what will give your family the best value for money. For example, if you are not a family that watches much television, it would not matter too much whether you had a widescreen television or not. Whatever your preferences, there are lots of accommodation options for all tastes and budgets, all of which are comfortable and enjoyable in which to spend time.
